I graduated from Montserrat College of art in May 2010 with a BFA and concentrated on Painting. I have been drawing since I can remember. I discovered my love for painting my sophomore year of college. I was at first an illustration major but soon discovered my passion was painting instead. For me, painting is a way for me to create unique images that reflect my life experiences, feelings and beliefs. I also enjoy the struggle and challenge of trying to portray three-dimensional structures, objects or figures on a two-dimensional surface through use of texture, color, and application of the paint. The process of creating a painting is exhausting but extremely rewarding, just as running and completing a marathon is. Each race is different and unique and the time in which you finish varies. Paintings can be like any other form of communication. My most recent works have been like therapy for me, a way to show people the hardships I have been through and the emotions I've had. My hopes are for others to relate to these feelings and appreciate what I've created on a blank canvas.
